Alejandro “Alex” J. Gonzalez, Esq. originates from Worcester, Massachusetts, but grew up in the vibrant city of Miami, Florida. After completing his education at the esteemed Christopher Columbus High School, a respected Catholic institution, Alex pursued higher education at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando. While at UCF, he refined his legal skills through roles as a law clerk, paralegal, and investigator at Egan, Lev & Siwica, P.A., a prominent labor and employment law firm representing notable clients, including labor unions such as the Teamsters, the International Union of Operating Engineers, and the NFL Players Association.
Driven by his passion for law, Alex continued his studies at Roger Williams University (RWU) School of Law in Bristol, Rhode Island. During his time there, he became an active member of the local maritime association and received prestigious accolades, including the CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Ocean & Coastal Law and Advanced Legal Writing. He also gained valuable experience as an intern at Settipane & Associates, a respected personal injury law firm in Providence, Rhode Island.
After graduating from RWU, Alex returned to South Florida, where he was admitted to practice law in Florida and the U.S. District Courts of Florida. Over the years, he has passionately represented both plaintiffs and defendants in various legal matters, including admiralty and maritime cases, business torts, commercial litigation, and contract disputes. His expertise extends to assisting international clients in areas such as maritime wrongful death, maritime personal injury, labor and employment, and commercial transportation cases.
Alex has developed a wealth of experience in international and domestic arbitration, working with established rules and conventions including the American Arbitration Association (AAA) Employment Rules, the AAA’s International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) Rules, the International Bar Association (IBA) Rules, the International Court of Arbitration (ICC) Rules, and the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards (New York Convention).
As a partner at the Miami office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., Alex vigorously represents clients in both state and federal courts throughout Florida. He has also participated in international arbitration proceedings, advocating for cruise line guests and crew members affected by various incidents across regions including the Caribbean, South America, India, and Southeast Asia. His dedication to fighting for plaintiffs who have suffered due to the negligence of others continues to propel his successful legal career.
