Monica de la Caridad Melo was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She graduated magna cum laude from Florida International University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. In 2011, she furthered her education by earning a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Florida. For 14 years, Monica dedicated herself to public school teaching, making a significant impact on her students' lives.
In 2020, Monica achieved her dream of becoming an attorney by obtaining her law degree from the Florida International University College of Law. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2022. During her time in law school, she contributed her skills to the FIU Legal Clinic, where she helped low-income families navigate the legal system, focusing on family law, guardianship, and social security cases.
Monica's passion for advocacy drives her work both in the classroom and the courtroom. She has gained experience in various areas, including first-party property insurance litigation, family law, immigration, and estate planning. Currently practicing personal injury law at Wolfson & Leon, Monica is dedicated to ensuring that clients receive fair compensation from insurance companies after experiencing a loss, continuing her commitment to advocacy and support for those in need.
